Every year October is the breast cancer awareness month, therefore clubs and event mangers arrange and set for events, activities and everything possible to aware people of cancer especially the breast cancer in UAE. Dubai ladies club in Jumaira had prepared an event of raising huge amount of funds for breast cancer research that included many doctors and breast cancer survivors along with the supporters of the breast cancer awareness.
The event took place this year and last year at the ladies club and it seems that the number of people attending this event is more by 60% than last year according to the project and event manager Eman Al Mansoori. Eman also mentioned that by placing the tables for the bazaar they donate to Dubai hospital and the money that is raised from the stall bookings and the donations all will go to the local breast cancer programs and to the services, research and promotion of early detection and prevention of the breast cancer. Eman Al Mansoori also assured that most of the bazaar people agreed to attend this event because they are supporting the breast cancer awareness. The reason why more people attended this year’s event than last year because people now are much more aware of the breast cancer and its problems especially in UAE people are getting interested to know more about how to protect themselves. One of the survivors was doctor Mervat Hosny Farag Allah 57 years old, a pediatrician in al wasl hospital, almost done with her chemotherapy added a quotation concerning the cancer “don’t wait for it, discover it yourself”. The event included a pink bazaar which is a shopping area where guests can purchase jewellery, home decorative items, clothing, breast cancer pink ribbon items and gifts of hope, love, and friendship. Proceeds from pink boutique will help fund various breast cancer support organizations within the UAE. Also included High tea on the beach, and Education presentations.
The event had a really positive effect on everyone their and from what I saw their people were so interested to know more and more about this problem and how to protect themselves from it. The event raised a lot of money, it raised much more that last year.
